I loved the actual backstory but well, less could have been more. However, if we hadn't had the backstory, much of the present would not have made sense or been credible. But I think that the backstory should have been much shorter. It is the current plot that is riveting.<br /><br />I like Paddy Richardson's writing. There is something about it that pulls me in on page one and doesn't let go until the end. She knows how to write suspenseful books.
